1. Manfred and his wife Elisabeth Austerer made several renovations and alterations to the building over the years.

2. It was rebuilt under the direction of the Jesuit priest Juan Rehr after the earthquake of 1746. Its facade and interior are austere , especially the chorus seats, altar and the tomb of conqueror Francisco Pizarro.

Die Kathedrale steht auf dem selben Platz, wo 1555 der originelle erbaut wurde.
